400 reasons
Serreria Bridge recognised as the 400th stay cable supported structure completed by the BBR Network
Fernando Tejada and Jose Manuel Illescas, from BBR Network member BBR PTE (Spain), were delighted to receive the award for delivering the Global BBR Network’s 400th stay cable project. Serreria Bridge in Valencia, Spain – designed by architect and engineer Santiago Calatrava – relies on almost 50 years of BBR Stay Cable Technology and experience. The BBR stay cable story began in 1960 when the world’s first wire stay cables were installed on the Schillersteg bridge in Stuttgart, Germany. Since then, the BBR Network has completed over 100 stay cable projects in Europe and over 260 structures in Asia – including the world’s first high fatigue resistant strand and carbon stays.
